Say hello to the farm animals

An experience your kids and the family will never forget

On site at Thorpe Farm Centre is the Wetheriggs Animal Rescue. We take in injured and unwanted animals including domestic pets (excluding dogs and cats), farm animals, and native wildlife. If we have the facilities suitable, we will take in any animal and give them a new home and a new chance at life.

Wetheriggs is open every day from 12pm–4pm, and the entrance fee helps to run the rescue centre. As a guest on our campsite, you’ll have the chance to get close and interact with our animals, including feeding some of them! We also regularly hold animal handling sessions with rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, rodents, snakes, lizards and much more.

Lovely site, spent 3 days camping. You can hear the traffic on a66 but we didn't mind it too much. Shower/toilet block are OK. Café and shop onsite. In good reach of towns like Ripon, Richmond, and Barnard castle. Would come back.

Excellent classic style camp site. Big open field for tents with small pond in middle. Also has holiday homes and touring site. On site shop, café and park make for an excellent stay.

Incredibly friendly staff began the whole experience perfectly. This was only to be continued upon arrival at the scenic and spacious pitch that was surrounded by many different amenities for the children and spotlessly clean toilets. Would definitely return soon. It was a wonderful experience.

We stayed 2 nights camping. Brilliant site. Kids loved it, park was great, also Animal Rescue Centre and walking. Sunday dinner was unreal, we will be staying again.

Clean site, plenty of dog walks, and clean toilet block with hot water. Plenty spacious touring /camping spaces. A lovely play area for the children, nice walkway to see the sheep, ducks, horses etc and a little indoor animal area.
